Italy: The City Of Rome

Rome, the capital of Italy.. it is also great place for sightseeing, shopping and dining!

I am standing in front of the historical spanish steps in Rome.
Being a popular tourist attraction, Rome is always crowded with tourists.

My wife standing in front of Gucci boutique shop here. Some may not know that it is best to buy branded products such as LVs or Gucci in Europe for foreigners. We save alot on the tax refund. :)

Trevi Fountain is one of the most majestic fountains in the world. We should go and see this at least once in our lifetime.

Michelle tossing a coin over her shoulder. There is a saying, "if you toss a coin behind into the Trevi fountain, you will return to Rome next time."

One important warning to tourists, beware of street entertainers who approach you suddenly. You can pose with them for photos. Tipping is optional. But don't give them your camera. They will 'confiscate' it unless you give them 20 to 50 euros!

The Pantheon is another must-visit place in Rome. Created by Michaelangelo.. this beautiful artitecture is really one of the kind.. we were amazed by the artitecture..

After visiting the Pantheon, we find a nice restaurant nearby to have our lunch. Less costly to sit outside than inside. Still remember, there is a young violinist performing beautiful music on the street that day.

Risotto, fries, pizza and veal costs us about 50 Euros in total. Traditional italian fare.. looks normal but taste extraordinary delicious!! :)

While walking in the streets of Rome, I took another photo of the blue sky.. talking to myself.. the sky is the limit.. I'm gonna work hard and make my dreams come true.

While shopping in Rome, we met a very polite and courteous artist. He is really kind and patient when we ask about his paintings.. Bought 4 pieces of art from him.. and take a picture with him for remembrance. Got his namecard, we will look for him when we return to Rome the next time.

After shopping, we went to "The Castle Of Angels" before visiting Vatican City. It's like being in the movie "Angels And Demons." The castle is really magnificent.

Yes, we finally arrived at Vatican City.. the only words that we said upon arriving is "Wow" Nothing can compete with such beautiful picturesque upon our eyes.

Though we are not Christians, we admired the architecture we seen in every part of the Vatican City... it is truly a great place to visit! Took another picture of the Vatican before we board our bus back to the ship.. this wonderful experience will always be remembered in our hearts. :)

Italy: Pisa

Before I visited Italy, the only impression I have is the leaning tower of Pisa. Since young, I always wanted to go there and experience it myself.

Now, my dream came true. :)

That's the common pose tourists will do when they come Pisa... :)

Me and my wife doing the typical tourist pose: Tip /push the Leaning Tower. :D

Finally saw something of familiarity.. a chinese restaurant!! In Singapore, chinese restaurants are so common.. in Italy, pizzeria and cafes are more common. We act like "Mountain Tortoises" again.

This picture is taken from the coach on our way back to the port from Pisa.Picture taken by Michelle, find the scenery nice so I uploaded it... one of the coolest place on Earth.

Italy: Historical Florence

It's feel so great knowing that you are stepping on historical grounds of the Roman Renaissance. Where Leonardo Da Vinci, Dante, Michaelangelo and many famous philosophers of all time lived.

This picture was taken at Michaelangelo's square with Florence and River Arno behind me.

Florence is a very crowded city. People from all over the world come down to marvel the wonders of this ancient city.

So crowded and noisy that we need to wear an earpiece in order to listen to the tour guide.

I look so much like an undercover pretending to be a tourist. :)

Michelle poses with the leader of the Roman Renaissance, Leonardo Da Vinci.. A genius of all time. With no formal education, he is a talented musician, war strategist, great inventor and artist. If in the future, my children has 10% of his knowledge, I'll be happy like mad! Will sit down, shaking my legs and wait for my children to invent things and make money. Hahaha!! :)

Dante is my favorite Renaissance hero. His spirit to uphold his beliefs gains many respect including mine.

I look so puny in this picture. :)

This was taken 5 min before we left for our next destination. My wife loved the quirky raciness of the boxer and quickly bought it for 5 Euros... (feel so embarrassed wearing it) It's only when I wore it the first time... I realised there is a hole in the butt area... sounds wrong.. haha! :P

Pisa..our next destination!

2nd Stop: Italy

After France, the cruise stops at 4 other ports in Italy. One word to describe my experiences in Italy, "Marvellous". It really brings me back into time where roman kings rule.. there is so many things to marvel about.. I wanted to go back there again someday! :)

The French Riveria: Eze

After we left Nice, Eze is our next destination. Eze is a huge mountainous town.. air is so fresh there.. You can see shops, cafe and restaurants in narrows cavings around the mountains. Do not know how they did it.

Anyway, hotels there are luxurious and guests can have paranomics views from the windows of their hotel rooms.

However, there is only one means of transport, walking or literally climbing up the steps to the top of the mountain.I can imagine how tough the porters or movers there will feel.

I still remember the tour guide who is twice of my size, left us at the foot of the mountain. Refused to "work out" with us.

This picture was taken by me. Hehe. Blue skies with misty clouds above the rooftops. Learn that, "wherever we live, we live under the same blue sky." Somewhere in the middle of the mountain road I saw another fountain, ask Michelle to take a picture of me with it. She found the fountain quite odd so she did not want to take picture with it.

So many things to see in Eze. My wife standing inside a very famous perfume shop.. too expensive so we did not bought any perfume back home...But we tried a few samples... hehe.

France, has the best production of perfume in the world.

Before going back to the coach, I took this picture of the model of Eze just outside the souvenir shop. Although it's a less than 2 hrs trip here and we did not manage to experience all the things there,I will always remember this place!
